The Inventory Manager page has three main sections: the dealer information section at the top left, the inventory statistics section at the top right, and the inventory list below. The dealer information section displays the contact information that will be associated and displayed for the offerings in the inventory list. This is the dealer to contact when a user wants to purchase a bond offered for sale. The inventory statistics section shows the last time that the inventory items were updated and by whom. The inventory list contains several columns: quantity, minimum order quantity, CUSIP, price type, price, concession, and optionally sales credit. The user may enter their inventory position into the system by filling in all of the fields in the inventory manager and pressing the 'Apply Changes' button. The items entered will be displayed below the dealer information section and supplemented with the descriptive information about the bond including with credit ratings, issuer description, coupon, and maturity. Yield to maturity, yield to call, and net price are calculated from the offering price or yield entered and displayed. If the description of the security is not found in the security master database, the message 'Waiting for description' is displayed while it is retrieved. Until the description is retrieved and the values calculated, the yield and price values display a 'Pending' message. If a calculation error occurs or the offering needs to be refreshed, a message to that effect is displayed in red along with the offering. Offerings must be updated and refreshed within 24 hours of posting or they will expire and not be accessible to the other users of the system. Expired offerings will display a message to that effect in the inventory manager so that the user knows to refresh them. Expired offerings are available for four days before they are deleted from the offerings database. If they are not refreshed before that time, they are deleted and must be re-entered. To update the quantity, minimum, or offering price of one of the items listed, type the new value into the appropriate field. When all desired changes are complete, press the 'Apply Changes' button. To delete an offering from the inventory that has sold, select the checkbox in the 'Delete' column on the right side of the list. Press the 'Apply Changes' button when all of the items to delete have been checked. The 'Return' button returns back to the Inventory Selection list when all of the necessary additions, updates, and deletions are complete on the inventory and all changes are saved. The preferred method of inventory management is an electronic feed between the dealer’s system and Bondtrac. There is no charge of any kind for establishing an electronic data feed. Contact your account representative or send an email message to offerings@bondtrac.com if you are interested in discussing the different options for connecting. |
