CUSIP Search

The CUSIP search provides the user with a quick way to search for multiple offerings from a specific issue or for an issuer in general. This is extremely useful for a number of different uses:

  1. Locate bonds to fill in a short sell. When used in conjunction with the Email Notification, users have the matching offerings emailed to them as soon as they are listed.
  2. Some users enter the holdings of their clients in a saved CUSIP search so that any offerings that match those in the customer holdings are quickly located for possible add-on sales.
  3. Users interested in bonds of a specific issuer can quickly locate all of the bonds from the same issuer by entering the first six characters of the CUSIP number (the issuer portion of the CUSIP) in the search list. All of the offerings from that issuer are returned when the query is executed.

To access the CUSIP search capability, select the desired security type from the Quick Navigation drop-down list and then select 'Search by CUSIP' from the left-hand menu. A query form is displayed that contains a title field, CUSIP entry field, CUSIP list, and several other selections that may be familiar from the Parameter Search form.

To add a CUSIP to the search list, type in the full or partial CUSIP and press the 'Add' button. The value entered is added to the list on the right.

To remove a CUSIP from the search list, select the item by clicking on it in the list and the press the 'Remove' button. The item is removed from the list.

Enter a description in the title field and press the 'Save' button to save the CUSIP search for later re-use. The CUSIP search is added to the list of searches displayed in your Saved Search List.

If this is an ad-hoc query and does not need to be saved, press the 'Search' button after adding all full or partial CUSIP numbers to the list. The 'Clear' button empties and resets the form in preparation for a new query.

At the bottom of the form, use the Update drop-down list to restrict the offerings return by the time of last update. The Sort Order, Layout, Sales Credit may also be selected in this section.
